Fleming Meadows, Lake Don Pedro California – Despite a little bit of wind and some whitecaps at launch time, it turned out to be a picturesque summer evening for the Bassbusters. Once the sun fell, and with no moonlight to guide the way, most of the teams stayed put in one of the lake's sheltered arms

Winners Mike Chen and Albert Leung gave credit to their selection of black Dead Ringers. They tossed the bait shallow and gradually moved deeper as the sky turned darkest.

The remainder of the field cited drop shotting and Sekos as the technique of choice. A notable exception was the fourth place team of Rene Duzac and John Fernandez who found the evening's only topwater action by using Heddon Spooks in the hour just before sunset.

June 2010 Don Pedro Night Winners: L-R  Jim Fritz and Jon Hagen (2rd Place), Robert Nelson and Sprio Stamos (3rd Place) Mike Chen  and Albert Leung (1st Place
Despite the nearly pitch black conditions no serious mishaps were reported. A broken trolling motor cable did make things a bit complicated for Jon Hagen and Jim Fritz. Determined not to let a little mechanical malfunction get this year's points leader down, Jon kept one hand on a rod and the other hand gripping and twisting the trolling motor. Jon and Jim overcame the hardship to finish a strong second place.
